blue jays

We hope that this message finds everyone having a safe and relaxing summer.  Believe it or not the school year is right around the corner.  We wanted to go into a little more detail about the Blue Jay Cards that we will be presenting to our athletes this fall.  In order to receive a Blue Jay Card your athlete will need to have the following turned into the High School Athletic Office.

  1.  Updated Physical on File by the athletes first official practice date: Fall High School Athletics begin on: August 9th, while Middle School Athletics begin on August 23rd.  A reminder that physicals are now good for 730 days.  Attached are links to be used for your athletes physical paperwork.                                       Doctor’s Form: https://www.mshsaa.org/resources/PDF/Current%20Pre-participation%20Physical%20Evaluation%20-%20PPE-History%20Form-English.pdf                    Parent’s Form: http://www.mshsaa.org/resources/pdf/CurrentMSHSAAPre-participationDocumentation-AnnualRequirements.pdf
  2. Register my Athlete completed by the athletes first official practice date: This is a simple process that allows us to have all important paperwork on file.  You can find the information to complete this at the following link:  Register My Athlete: https://registermyathlete.com/login/

Once those two important items have been complete you will be able to come pick up your Blue Jay Card from the High School Athletic Office, starting the week of July 26th, from 8am – 3pm.  We will also hand them out before our ALL Athletic Parent Meeting at 5pm on August 8th. We will be in the PAC Lobby by 4pm to hand out the cards. If interested, Blue Jay gear will be for sale when you come to pick up the Blue Jay Card.  Most items will be selling for $5.

Once the Blue Jay Card has been obtained, your athlete will present that laminated card to the Head Coach of the Sport they are participating in on the first day of practice.  Once the Head Coach receives this card, they will know that your athlete has met all of the requirements of the school district in order to participate.

A reminder that our ALL Athletic Parent Meeting is on August 8th in the PAC at 5pm.  We will be live streaming and recording the meeting if you are unable to attend.  Mrs. Hammock will also be at Danby during their open house on August 18 to hand out Blue Jay Cards.

If you have any questions please contact Alex Rouggly at rougglya@jr7.k12.mo.us or Andrea Hammock at hammocka@jr7.k12.mo.us in the Athletic Office.  We are here to make this as smooth of a process as possible.
