Jefferson R-VII Appreciates Retiring Administrator

Mrs. Cindy Holdinghausen, began her career in education with the Jefferson R-VII School District as a student teacher for fifth grade in 1997. Shortly after, she was hired as a sixth grade teacher in 1998 at Danby-Rush Tower MS. She taught at the middle school for eight years before being hired as the Telegraph Intermediate Principal. She continued in that position from 2006 to 2012 before returning to Danby-Rush Tower as the Middle School Principal where she continued her career working with all stakeholders for the success of the students these past eleven years.

Mrs. Holdinghausen is a lifelong learner and her wealth of knowledge has captivated students for many years. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where she received her Bachelors, Masters, and Specialist Degrees. She and her husband, John Holdinghausen, have been married 33 years and have three children, Chelsey (husband Ryan), Stevie, and Cole. They also have one grandchild, Rhett. It is her desire to be able to spend more time traveling and enjoying time with her family.

Upon reflection, Mrs. Holdinghausen stated, “These past 25 years at Jefferson R-VII School District have been the highlight of my career. It is difficult to put into words how thankful I am to the district for the opportunities that have been given me as well as how grateful I am for helping me to grow personally and professionally.”
“Over these past several years, I have had the pleasure of being a teacher and administrator. It was during my tenure that I learned true teaching is a special partnership. It only works when the teacher can see through the outer image, into the heart, and can understand and respect what they see. Relationships are what is most important when it comes to working with students.”
“It truly has been a wonderful journey and these life experiences have taught me so much. I have evolved as a better educator and also a better person. I am especially thankful to my staff for their support, friendship, and for being exemplars of what it is to serve faithfully with humility. I will always remember our shared laughter, our joys, as well as our struggles, and will be taking many fond memories with me.”
“I will greatly miss the students and staff of Jefferson R-VII, but know the district will continue to move forward and do even greater things in the future. Thank you for making my career a truly wonderful experience. I will miss everyone immensely. I wish Jefferson R-VII much success in the upcoming years.”

The Jefferson R-VII School District appreciates Mrs. Holdinghausen and her commitment to all students who have had the great fortune to have had her as an educator and administrator. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors and travels!
