retiring counselors

The Administration at Jefferson R-VII knew this day was coming, but now it is official. We have been fortunate to have had two long time counselors serve our students, notify the district of their intent to retire at the end of this school year. Our community has been fortunate to have Mrs. Debbie Runzi, Jefferson High School and Mrs. Kim Tessaro, Danby Middle School, serve our students and community as counselors.

Mrs. Runzi began her career as a Spanish Teacher at Herculaneum High School and Festus High School. She has served in a counseling position at Herculaneum High School, Jefferson City High School, and Jefferson High School. This is her 29th year in Education.

Mrs. Tessaro began as a substitute in the Jefferson R-VII School District, served as an At-Risk Teacher at Plattin and Telegraph, and moved into Counseling at both the elementary and middle school levels for the district. This is her 21st year in education.

The Jefferson R-VII School District appreciates the commitment to our students by both Mrs. Runzi and Mrs. Tessaro. We look forward to our last semester with you and wish you the very best in your future endeavours!
