On Friday, January 20, 2023 Jefferson High School will be hosting its 9th Annual Hoops for Hope Event at Jefferson High School. Every year this event is used to raise money for families in the Jefferson R-7 School District that have been faced with a hardship due to illness or some other form of tragedy.
It is also used to fund two $500 scholarships, one each for a male and female student in that years graduating class in memory of Ly Ly Koenig who was taken way too early by Cancer.
This year’s event will be centered around a one-night doubleheader of Jefferson County Conference Basketball between the Jefferson Blue Jays and Herculaneum Blackcats. The boys and girls Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will all play on Friday. As many of you know this has turned into quite the rivalry and the games are always a highly entertaining night.
We know that the past couple years have been a very trying time for all but we also realize that there are individuals out there that still need our assistance so we will work hard again this year to make that happen and we hope you will join us.
