During the November 19, 2025 Board Meeting, the following honorees were recognized:

Mr. Brian Crump, 8th Grade Math Teacher, was honored with the Emerson's 2025 Excellence in Teaching Award for the impact he continues to make on students, staff, and the math program.
Dr. Haug shared that while the true stars of the district are the students and teachers, this award serves as a reminder of why the work matters. Mr. Crump was recognized for his passion in the classroom and his commitment to strengthening the middle school math department. His efforts to ensure students are placed in the right classes and supported at the right level have made a meaningful difference, even when that work happens quietly behind the scenes.
Mr. Horn spoke about Mr. Crump as a steady, quiet leader who consistently puts students first. He highlighted the way Mr. Crump advocates for students' needs, supports fellow teachers, and helps align curriculum, all while maintaining a consistent presence with students day after day. Though he does not seek the spotlight, his influence is felt across the building and within the success of the math program.
Mr. Crump's dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for students reflect the spirit of the Emerson's 2025 Excellence in Teaching Award. The district is grateful for the work he does each day and the positive example he sets for both students and staff.
